Our family have been farming at Spellow Grange since 1934.

The farm is predominately an arable farm, growing wheat, barley oilseed rape and beans, but we also grow some grass for haylage for the equine market.

We are keen to increase our acreage, especially the contract farmed area.

Sympathetic Environmental Farming

We aim to farm sympathetically with the environment, especially with regards to soil health. We have been using direct drilling and ultra-low till techniques for over 15 years, as well as min-hill and conventional plough / combi-drilling.

As well as farming at Spellow Grange, we also farm 500 acres under a contract farming agreement near Harrogate. Other work is carried out under stubble to stubble agreements alongside other general contracting work.
